While imprisoned by the Amazons, Phantes, the son of the Centaur leader Tyldus, falls in love with the Amazon Ephiny. He and Ephiny leave the Amazon lands to make a life together. Sadly, Phantes dies in the war between Mitoa and Thessaly before he can see the birth of his young Centaur son, Xenon.
